A Stronger, More Welcoming Front Entrance
The client’s front yard started with a deteriorating natural stone walkway and an aging brick stoop. We implemented a complete replacement to create a durable, inviting entry:
- Walkway: We installed a durable Trinity paver system to establish a modern, long-lasting path.
- Stoop: The entry stoop was upgraded with an elegant Weston stone finish layered over a cinderblock base, and we replaced the old, rotted structural supports underneath.
Engineering Beauty in the Backyard
The client wanted the backyard to function as their primary outdoor living space, which required us to first address significant water management issues.
- Drainage is Key: We installed extensive drainage beneath all new patios and behind the new retaining walls. We also included an underground retaining wall to stabilize the grade effectively.
- Multi-Tiered Patios: We designed two separate patios to create distinct, usable zones for outdoor activities. This involved engineering a step to lift the grade for the second patio, ensuring a natural flow that was complemented by a long retaining wall for architectural definition.
- Seamless Access: We connected the entire space efficiently. A designated walkway provides easy access to the kitchen door, while beautiful sandstone steps lead to an upper pad, which breaks up the space and provides direct access to the client’s second garage.
Retaining Wall & Walkway
One of the standout structural elements of the project is the long retaining wall that provides stability, definition, and beauty to the yard. Behind it, more drainage was installed to keep the landscape performing at its best.
The final result is a fully integrated, high-quality outdoor system built to provide an enjoyable living space for years to come.
